GAIA Workshop 2026
The second Workshop on Geospatial AI and Foundation Models (GAIA 2026) will be held as a half-day workshop at ECCV 2026, bringing together researchers and practitioners from computer vision, geospatial AI, Earth observation, climate science, multimodal learning, and space technologies. The workshop will focus on advancing foundation and multimodal models for geospatial reasoning and Earth-scale intelligence, with topics including vision-language grounding for remote sensing, spatial reasoning with large language models, cross-resolution and cross-sensor generalization, multimodal fusion, generative Earth simulation, and foundation models for extraterrestrial data. Through invited keynotes, oral presentations, poster sessions, a benchmarking track, and a panel discussion on planetary-scale intelligence, GAIA 2026 aims to bridge the geospatial intelligence community with the broader foundation model research community, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and catalyzing the development of robust, scalable, and responsible AI systems for climate, environment, agriculture, disaster response, and planetary exploration.

Organizers
Call for Papers
We accept novel full 14-page papers (ECCV 2026 format) for publication in the proceedings, and shorter 8-page extended abstracts of either novel or previously published work that will not be published in the proceedings but, if accepted, will be presented during our poster session.

Submissions must be in PDF format, either of the following two types:
- Extended abstract (8 pages excluding references)
- Regular paper (14 pages excluding references)
- Submissions must be self-contained and may not include appendices or supplementary material.
- The regular papers will be published at GAIA 2026, Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS), Springer, proceedings.
- Papers must be anonymous and adhere to the template.
- The review will be double-blind and managed via OpenReview.
- Accepted papers will be presented as oral talks or spotlights with posters.
- Non-archival submissions that are under review or have been recently accepted to other venues, clearly marked as such, are also invited for extended abstracts.
Submissions are double-blind and reviewed by an international program committee spanning foundation models and geospatial AI.
Venue
The GAIA 2026 Workshop will be held at the Malmö Arena and Malmömässan (Hyllie Stationstorg 2, 215 32 Malmö, Sweden), a premier venue in Malmö’s Hyllie district, directly connected by train to Malmö city center and Copenhagen Airport.
